Are There Pregnancy Chances Even After Negative Test Results?

Hello, I think i am 7 weeks pregnant but I have done a Home pregnancy test and it has come back negative, my GP is sending off a urine sample to be tested but if my HPT was negative will the GP be able to pick up anything different from the HPT ?? and is it possible to get a negative result at 7 weeks but still be pregnant ?

Hello
thanks for using health care magic

At 7 weeks the HPT should be positive.
However, there is a possibility of false negative which could
be due the quality of the HPT or if its expired or destroyed.
It could also be negative if the urine didn't contain enough
of the hormone which is being tested. Urine used has to be
early morning urine.

If the urine was correctly collected and the test not defective,
then you are not pregnant.

However, to be sure, you could do an endovaginal ultrasound.

Best regards
