Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Rifampicin,pyrazinamide And Ethamubto?
Hello, My brother is currently taking Rifampicin 600mg, Pyrazinamide500mg, Ethamubtol400mg and INH 100mg to treat his spine TB. He is experiencing severe side effects such as vomiting, diaherrea, and loss all his appetite. Is there a different medicine or a lessor dosage to treat his TB? His doctor is in a different country so he would like to know if there is a different options for treatment before deciding to take the trip to return to his doctor as the trip is very costly. Hi,
Multiple drugs are always used for the treatment of tuberculosis which prevents drug resistance and disease relapse. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, skin rashes, itching, vitamin B12 deficiency are common with these drugs. Most of the side effects of the drug will reduce in the subsequent weeks. Symptomatic treatment should be done and the dose should not be reduced. Six months of treatment is required to prevent relapse.
