Hi,

Femilon is a combined oral contraceptive pill which can cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps or bloating, headache, water retention, weight gain, irregular bleeding and mood changes. I would suggest you to take Vitamin D3 in the form of capsule or powder along with milk. A dose of 60,000 IU can be taken once a week for 4 weeks and levels should be rechecked. You should continue Femilon for 3 months and ultrasound scan be taken again to monitor the response to the drug.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
