Are Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck Associated With Severe Migraine?

I get migraines about twice a year, however, I ve had 2 major migraines in the last month that have required me to go to the e.r. I ve also noticed that fir the last 2 weeks, my lymph nodes in my neck have become swollen, and the last week I ve had a stiff neck. At first I thought I just woke up with a stuff neck, however this has not gone away and I haven t done anything to strain it. I have also had a swollen node in my left arm pit. I thought it was due to my deodorant, I switched, but it s still persistent and has been that way for months. I d like to know if this all ties in together and if this is something I should get checked out.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, the swollen lymph nodes without a reason need some investigations such as CT chest, CT abdomen, CBC and a biopsy from one of the swollen lymph node. Normally, there is no relation between migraine and swollen lymph node, but in some tumors, migraine can occur with swollen lymph nodes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dr/Mustafa, Neurologist
