Are Stomach Pain And Dark Colored Urine The Side Effects Of Taking Azithyromycin?

Yesterday I started taking azithromycin. After the first two tablets I had some stomach pain and my urine turned brown. Today after one tablet I did not get any pain in the stomach but the urine is still unusual color. I also have horrible headache. Is this normal side effect for this drug?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Every drug has potential side effects that may or may not occur. Side effects of azithromycin do include headache, abdominal pain and rarely a change in urine colour.

Normally the urine colour reverts to normal after the medication is discontinued.

The headache may be result of the medication or related to your underlying illness.

If you feel significantly unwell, you should consider consulting your doctor.

I hope this helps
