Are Painful Swollen Nipples Due To Herpes Virus?

I noticed a pain around my niple area, when i touch it feel slightly swolen, natural bumps around the nipple are pronounced but only right side niple apears painfully swolen. pPrevious blood test confirmed traces if herpes virus probably since i was a teen- but never had outbreaks, could this be related to the virus..?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

No, it is not likely.

Herpes 1 tends to cause lesions around the mouth area, though with oral sex lesions can be transferred to the genitalia.

Herpes 2 causes lesions in the genitalia. Lesions are not usually seen in on the breasts so these are due to another cause.
It is possible that you may have nipple eczema, this can be treated with topical steroid creams.

I hope this helps
