Are Pain And Swelling In The Knees After A Fall Due To An Infection?

I fell about four days ago, The pain has been steadily increasing, to the point where I have been advised to use a walker, and for outside my apartment, use a wheel chair. The pain and swelling has increased, however, and the anterior surface of my left knee is very warm to the touch, much more so than it has been before. I suspect an infection. Right track?

Hello,

I must say that it is due to inflammation.
The symptoms are due to one of the signs of inflammation. please do take antibiotic (in case of any infection) and an anti inflammatory for 5 days.Do hot massage over that knee.It will be reduced in a week.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rohit S Menon,
