Are Hot Flashes, Weight Gain And Fatigue Due To Thyroid Problem?

I have a sluggish thyroid and am having surgery on June1st. Are the symptoms I am experiencing due to the thyroid? Fatigue, shallow breathing, hot flashes, sweats, weight gain? Will they disappear when my thrroid is removed, or will they continue and possibly get worse? Thank you

Hello
The weight gain and fatigue could be from a sluggish thyroid but the hot flashes and sweats would be more consistent with an overactive thyroid.
Most likely the first two symptom would diminish after your thyroid is removed and you're placed on thyroid hormone replacement
