Are Dry Cough And Chest Pain Symptoms Of Flu?

I have been sick for 5 days. It started with a dry cough that hurt my throat and chest. Then for 3 days it was mild fever, chills, runny nose, slight cough, aching legs and hips, no energy, no appetite, and watery stools. Today I have had no fever, no chills but, still alittle snotty with a deep non stop cough. I am starting to gain my energy and appetite back as well. Does this sound like flu?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you described are suggestive of flu. Since you have already noticed that symptoms have subsided, there is nothing to be worried. Cough can last for a few days after the flu. You can take any over the counter cough suppressant containing dextromethorphan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
