Are Constant Headaches Along With Frequent Bowels A Cause For Concern?
my son is 16. He is active with weight training. He is 5 11 and 185 lbs. He eats about four times a day. My concern is that the last 6 months he has been complaining of headaches and seems to have 4-6 bowel movements a day. He wears glasses, however, he just got a new prescription this last summer. Is this something I should be concerned with?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of constant headaches along with frequent bowels . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like irritable bowel syndrome , lactose intolerance, medication reaction or side-effect, food poisoning or viral gastroenteritis. I would suggest you to avoid eating heavy and spicy , eat small and frequent meals, eat 1-2 banana in a day and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain tests like endoscopy and stool test and take history . Doctor may prescribe loperamide , ornidazole along with anti inflammatory . Sometimes headache also occur due to migraine , so consult neurologist for it .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
