My 19 year old son has the following symptoms and we are wondering about the possibility of meningitis: 102 temperature chills stiff neck He does not feel like throwing up and has been sleeping on and off all day, but is having trouble falling asleep right now. Could it also be the flu?

having a high grade fever and a stiff neck is a red flag , it could be a simple flu but it can be meningitis , so in order to clear that up physical exam can reveal meaningful irritation signs if it's there and if not can pretty much exclude that .
so I highly recommend taking him to his doctor you perform the exam .
