Are Antibiotics And Steroids The Right Method Of Treatment For Pneumonia?

my mom has pneumonia, sent home with a little bit of antibiotics left to take. but also given a med for inflammation, it was steroids? she s back in the hospital with pneumonia in both lungs and on antibiotics. I hear all the time the elderly pass from complications from pneumonia.......is she on the right track?

I understand your question. Pneumonia means inflammation of lung and filled cavity in lungs. Infection of lungs that one by bacteria or viral infection.

After diagnose a pneumonia start proper antibiotics under doctor's suggestion . sputum culture sensitivity test is helpful for checking proper treatment. If filled cavity in lungs is large that Sometime aspiration can done. Mostly proper antibiotics and other drugs give good results.
After completing a course of drugs chest x ray give exact idea. Consent a pulmonologist for further treatment.
