Are Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea Cause For Concern During Pregnancy?
I am 5 months pregnant. I have had a previous miscarraige followed by a healthy pregnancy. I have had diarrhea for five days with mid line abdominal pain that never goes away. I talked to my OB nurse who told me it is likely the flu. I do not feel as though I have the flu and with my prior miscarraige I felt the same cramping. I did not bleed with that miscarraige. I had to take a pill to get my body to expel the fetus. This sounds like threatened miscarraige to me, but the ob is not concerned.
Abdominal pain and diarrhea are both normal during pregnancy. Although the only cause for concern would be dehydration, which we will have to take measures to avpid during diarrhea.
As for miscarriage, these symptoms are not definitive symptoms of a miscarriage ma'am. But if at all you feel concerned, then revisit your doctor and request for an elaborate evaluation.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
