Are Dytor And Edeloss Are The Same Type Of Medicines As The Doctor Has Prescribed Dytor Instead Of Edeloss Due To Side Effects?

Thanks doctor in advance for your advice. I just wanted to know that, is Dytor and Edeloss are the same type of medicine? My Mom is a cardiac patient, she has permanent pacemaker since 2003. She was adviced to take Edeloss half once in a day for long after continuing she had swollen her face n legs than Doctor advice Dytor 2.5 mg to continue.
regards, Shayla

Hi Shayla,

Yes, you are right, Dytor (Torsemide) and Edeloss (Furosemide+Spironolactone) are both diuretics.

Such diuretic combination is advised in cases of water retention, that's why her doctor advised her to take them both.

Please check her electrolyte levels and keep following up with her cardiologist regularly!

All the best to your mom!
