Any Ideas About Painful Wrist And Thumb On Moving It Left?

My wrist bone is very tender to the touch. I cannot take the cover off a jar without pain. The four fingers on my hand are fine, but the pain is affecting my thumb movements. I can turn my hand up and down and to the right, but it hurts to turn it to the left. I am referring to my right hand, of course. what do you think?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
hi
after going through your problem and if you have pain while making a tight fist with thumb under the rest of fingers .you seems to have what we call dequervain's tendinitis(inflammation of tendons attached to thumb).
my advice would be do ice fomentation, gentle thumb excercises, tab.ibuprofen will help.it takes time to recover.if not relieved of pain then local cotisone inj. at site of pain help.
take care and feel free to contact anytime.
