** 1. Cellular NSIP [non specific Interstitial pneumonia] has better outcome and low mortality rate than other form of idiopathic interstitial pneumonias [IIPs] and occurs in women [your mother] and also in younger age. 2. Incidentally NSIP occur in the context of an underlying disorder such as connective tissue disease, especially [ systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and dermatomyositis/polymyositis], drug‐induced interstitial lung disease or chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis. [make sure your attending Physician has ruled them out with relevant examination and Investigations. 3. A suspected diagnosis of NSIP will always require a surgical biopsy to make a more precise diagnosis [so if recovery is not much make sure they go for biopsy to confirm the same] 4.
