Hi,

Many people are unable to eat when they are anxious and end up losing weight if anxiety persists. Please start with your medicines for anxiety and see is controlling helps improve your appetite or not. If not, then you will require assessment for other causes of weight loss. It will also make sense to get your blood tested for thyroid hormone levels as both weight loss and anxiety can occur in hyperthyroidism. Alprazolam is only a short term treatment for anxiety and you may need medicines of SSRI class (sertraline, paroxetine etc) for better results in the long term.

Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
