Altitude sickness. What to about headaches and sleeplessness?

Hi! I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico from Cedar Rapids, Iowa last August--a significant difference in altitude. When I first moved here I was instantly over come with attitude sickness--I had one of the worst headaches of my life and threw up a lot. I have gotten much better, but I still have some questions about moving to an area with high altitude. Is it true that high altitude can affect a person s mood and their sleep patterns?
