Accident, Bruised Elbow, Swelling. Any Treatment Required?

My son fell off his bike and landed on his elbow. It was bruised, but not too bad. A few hours later he was playing with the neighbor kids and tripped in the middle of the road and fell on the same elbow. He has a huge scrape and the it is REALLY swollen!!! He doesn't complain about it being really painful, but I am concerned about the amount of swelling. Do you think it needs to be seen even though he is not complaining about the pain?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

I will advice you to consult to an orthopedic doctor.A x ray is needed to evaluate his present injury.I used to treat such patient with a antibiotic preparation also .There is hematoma or blood collection which can be infected due to skin lesion.
If it is a road side injury & if he did not had tetanus toxoid injection with in last 5 years then this should also be given to him.

Hope this all will relive his swelling & any further complications.

With best wishes.
