72 Year Old Having Severe Pain In The Neck. MRI Showing Disc Degeneration, Reversal Of Cervical Curvature. History Of Appendectomy, Hysterectomy And Hernia Repair. Remedy?

Hello. I m an active 72 yo female & would like to know what can be done to alleviate this condition, or to reduce/or eliminate severe pain expecially on the right side of neck. This is a problem that has gradually increased over the past 6/7 months. MRI shows C3-4, C4-5, C5-6, c-7 disc degenerationNo evidence of disc bulge or herniated dics in C2-3 or C-T1 & no evidence of disc bulge or herniated disc in T1-2. Impression: 1. Mild reversal of the cervical curvature at C5-6. 2. No significant central stenosis at any level. 3. Multilevel foraminal narrowing is noted as described above greater on the right at C3-4 & on the keft at C6-7. Surgic history: Appendectomy , tonsilectomy, hysterectomy , (L) hernia repair , laparatomy for bowell obstruction. Hopefully that s the last surgury! Height = 5 10 , weight = 139.

Hi
you are suffering from disc degeneration disc disease. As multi level foraminal narrowing is present and no canal stenosis , one should try with conservative treatment ( NSAIDs and collar, and IFT) .
If does not response to non operative treatment then surgery is for consideration.
Previous operations does not carry any effect on neck problem
