7 Week Baby, Bottle Fed, Hungry Baby. Is Giving Farex Safe At This Age?

Hi there. My son is 7weeks old, he is a big baby with his birth weight being 8pound 9oz. He is a very hungry baby. He is bottle feed and drinking around 125ml every 2-3 hours. My mum insists on giving him farex. Only about a quarter of a teaspoon as she did with all her children at 5weeks. Is farex safe for his age? Thanks Kelsey.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,thank you and nice to answer you.Your son is 7 weeks old and he is very hungry and taking 125 ml every 2-3 hours. The infants may be given feeds as per the demand or as per schedule. The weaning food should be offered after 5 months as by that time the GIT will be mature enough to receive the weaning food with adequate digestive enzymes and usually up to that time the mother feeding will be sufficient to meet the needs of the infant.
