7 Months Pregnant. PUJ Obstraction In Baby's Kidney. Need Surgery. Advice?

Hi Doctor,

Now I've just completed 7th month (30-31wk), our doctor says there's a PUJ Obstraction in the baby's right kidney, the gap between the Kidney and the bladder tube is more, it's about 27x44 mm in the right Kidney, so they told that they'll make the delivery by 9th month beginning and will do the surgery.

Please guide me I'm very much scared becoz of the premature birth also the chronic stage of the kidney...

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The PUJ obstruction in the baby needs a surgical treatment after the birth of the baby if the obstruction is severe enough to cause a back pressure changes in the kidneys. This can be decided only after the birth of the baby.
