41 Years Old Female Has Had A Hysterectomy Two Years Earlier & Also Suffering From Osteopenia

My wife is 41 years old and has had a hysterectomy two years earlier. She is also suffering from osteopenia .She was always a bit short tempered but lately has become very snappy. She starts attacking me verbally (even physically) without any apparent provocation or an innocuous comment. Her mood swings can start from some thing like my brother taking his wife for a vacation (they live 2000 km away) to the maid coming late. Please help. Sex : Female Age : 41 years Married, single kid. Undergone hysterectomy. Suffering from osteopenia. Very autocratic. Family history of mental problem (grandma was mentally sick).

Hello.Welcome to HCM forum. There could be 3 possibilities.1st it could be due to menopause.2nd it could be due to deficiencies of VIT B12,IRON,VIT D,CALCIUM,FOLIC ACID etc.3rd it could be psychiatric.her family history supports that possibility.Get her investigated thoroughly by Gynec and may be consult a psychiatrist. Thanks and good luck.

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic
Hi there can be two possibilties responsible for her present condition one is gynaecological and other is psychological. As she underwent hysterectomy 2yrs back she must be facing surgical menopause. As she was short tempered since begining menopause adds more into it.Menopause brings more irritation, depression, mood swings and physical problems like bone loss, hot flashes etc which may add further to her irritation.Get her examined by a gynecologist and hormone replacement therapy(HRT) like estrogen, progesterone, tibolone supplements long with calcium can be started. For other aspect u need to have psychiatric counselling.Take care.
