25 year old with severe hair loss and gray hair. Due to washing hair frequently?

Hi Doctor, I am a 25 year old female. I am having concerns with my hair. Before going to college, I had a decent good looking hair but now, my hair looks much worse than a horse tail. I also have grey hairs too, I have been hitting in the gym on the week days and after my workout, my hair feels like i have taken bath in sweat. I cant be without taking a head shower. So could this be the reason for this reduced hair volume? Please help me!

There could be few causes for hair fall like
Androgenetic alopecia where initially the hair parting widens and later on hair loss is mainly from central portion scalp.
Telogen effluvium diffuse hair fall where hair density reduces. Mainly due to any chronic illness, stress, surgery, nutritional disorder
Local causes include severe dandruff, any chemical application like hair color, dyes, straightening, revonding of hair etc.
Firstly in your case the cause needs to be ruled out, so that proper treatment can be started.

After vigorous gym exercise, the sweat produced would cause hair to look sticky and limp. So you need to wash hair regularly. If there is too much sweat or oil in hair, it would attract dust and grime and may lead to hair fall too. Incorporate proteins like eggs, cheese, soy in your diet. Also increase intake of fruits, nuts and milk.

Hi, you are having telogen effluvium. Heavy work out can precipitate T E. However, there are many causes of hair loss.....anaemia, vitamin deficienciec, zink deficiency,poor eating,tension,stress, thyroid dysfunction,other internal diseases, drugs,local skin diseases..etc. You have gray hairs also. There may be some cause. Even stress physical or psychological can cause greying of hairs.genetic base may be tHere... Apply local steroid lotion on scalp at night. Use almond hair oil. Do herbal hair shampoo. Take biotin 10 mg daily . Take calcium pentothenate and PABA containing tablet. Before that, you should be investigated to rule out some cause... Consult eminent dermatologist .. Ok
