15 Month Old Child, Several Bowel Movements, Pungent, Bumps On Body After Applying Eye Drops. Could Eye Drops Cause This?

My 15 month old grand daughter may have ingested a very small amount, a few drops, of Systane eye drops Tuesday afternoon. She has had several biwel movements today, not watery but pungent and larger than usual. She also has little bumps on her body. The eye drops contain lubricants and boric acid. Could the eye drops cause these symptoms.

hello,
ingestion of boric acid causes irritation to the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract, could result in the development of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, rash, headache, fall in body temperature.
but body has a natural defence to remove it, dont worry give her plenty of water dont give any medicine now.
take care

hello,
it doesnt seem that this is due to systane drops, show her to paediatrician, take care of dehydration, and as you said they are pungent there might be chances of infection, look for blood in stools, once again take care of dehydration
thank you

dont worry. systane being a lubricant will not harm your baby as anything in it is of very little concentration.
