What Does A Lump Behind Neck Indicate?
Can be Lymph node or Sebaceous Cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query albeit small and specific.
I would like to know a bit more information so that that I can help you more.
Since when have you got this?
Is there pain, redness, throbbing, difficulty in moving neck ?
What is the size, shape and consistency on pressure?
Any investigations of blood / Ultrasonography / FNAC / Surgeon's opinion?
Any treatment taken ?
If you are asking this question about lump on your neck at the age of 19, my most probable diagnosis would be either a sebaceous cyst or a lymph node.
The lymph nodes in this situation is usually due to some condition of the scalp like dandruff, itching , small abrasions. It is under the skin and skin can move above the swelling.
Sebaceous cyst is attached to the skin, painless unless infected, moves with skin , grows very slowly, can see a black spot of attachment to the skin.
I hope this helps you to get an idea. I will be happy to get a feedback from you.
Ear infection > lymph node / ENT Consultation help
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your prompt and nice feedback.
This looks to be lymph node, as there are other lumps behind the ear. You have an earache too. Yes, it can be due to ear infection and most probably due to infection of the ear canal.
I would advise you the following in such a condition the following.
Get an examination done by an ENT Surgeon to ascertain the exact cause of the earache, to confirm that the lumps are lymph nodes or not, to get a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines ( you need a prescription too), to get an advice for further investigations if needed.
I hope the lumps will settle for good with a treatment for 1 to 3 weeks.
If still doubt remains, you can certainly get a confirmatory diagnosis by FNAC.
I hope this answer helps you; you may rate this answer if you liked it and you are most welcome to ask for further if you need to.

Have a great day.
