Brief Answer:
Withdrawal effects

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but there is no need to worry as what you are experiencing is withdrawal side effects , however this will decrease gradually and vanish by the end of the first month. In the meanwhile you need to engage in social activities and keep accompanied most of the time to ease the symptoms. I hope you find this helpful

i do actually look after the needs of a disabled man and have regularly have postal contact with another person a long way off in a nursing home.I did have a cat but having her put down was too much to endure a 2nd time. There is v little online over this drug and had i ever seen a post warning of these dangers would have ceased immediately whilst i threw all of them away when i realised the problem. Theres no craving for this stuff but it has effected my concentration which is slowly returning.Fortunately have been able to take this week off and dont need to go out... so thanks ... XXXXXXX

Great

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again.. that’s great to hear as involvements in these activities will help you get through this time easily..
As you were told this drug is non addictive, which means you won’t crave it but still it has withdrawal symptoms that are annoying but not endangering. I hope you find this helpful

Hello and only for Dr Shoman, i have been under intense emotional pressures these last few days and the temptation to have a few alcoholic drinks has raised itself...i stopped completely over a year ago having realised that i was developing a problem as i then believed a painkiller which worked was by doctors prescription alone and my GP was very difficult to see, and then after i was attacked at my home and feared another attack- i live on the ground floor- decided i might enjoy a few glasses of wine again but somehow despite only doing this leaving 3-5 days between drinks of 3-4 glasses this MAY HAVE set off previous withdrawal symptoms. Is this feasible at all? NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW.I wondered if you do? ( when holiday and giving up spirits you know i didnt have any serious problems) I so need to calm down again as emotional pain i cant do much about - its my sister who i have long tried to be pleasant to, after a disagreement when she broke her word refuses to be brought back alongside.... nothing i can do .... Maybe a few more days and this phenergan will have subsided?? I did take them at stressful moments as no withdrawal seemed good to me..... any thoughts at all best wishes Bill intense building work by neighbouts inc sun has now ended.... this is just a bad time isnt it... i didnt buy any drink. When left 2 bottles during a holiday let i poured down the toilet

I would not recommend

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again.. I would not recommend that you drink alcohol to overcome this feelings and hard time as it is difficult to control the intake the way you described. once you start , you will crave for it more and more and you won’t be able to keep the spacing days nor limit the intake to a few drinks only.
The hard time will pass and things will get better without any interventions of medications nor alcohol which will do you harm more than good. I hope you find this helpful

my GP did give me some Benzos for 5 days 3 x 5mg so will take these unless you say dont/just took ist before you answered me.... i really dont know if i have a problem with alcohol because i dont know if, kindling aside, wine at a moderate level can make you ill and bring back old withdrawal symptoms - i wouldnt actually want more.BUT THIS DOESNT MEAN I AM GOING TO DO IT - i dont see any benefit in alcohol as a rule but i did have a crisis this week but won my settlement of 11,700 and got enemies off my back despite my sister failing to do as asked and making this precarious so i had to work all Mon night to gather more evidence and they caved in Tues and she did make an attempt at an apology as near as i will ever get one....THIS WAS RATHER A MIRACLE REALLY // On Oct 3rd last year i renounced all spirits and havent missed them...i went cold turkey and succeeded.....and i might have had something last night were it here....BUT WINE IS A MOCKER and i think this means more than leading to fights but can make a fool of all imbibers....i think if you dont know, abstain...would hope to be nearer old concentration levels within a week or so now

No problem in taking prescription

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again. There is no problem in taking the prescribed benzodiazepines as short term use (for 5 days ) is not expected to cause any side effects noble withdrawal symptoms. I am so glad your sister is coming around and that things are starting to get better for you. you would expect your concentration to return to optimum level within 7-10 days. i may actually need some support again i dont know....hope this is ok and not too repetitive ...there is no other reliable support out there.I was only able to talk to GP via triage on the phone.I didnt even mention withdrawal side-effects because i rather suspect withdrawal side-effects is NOT well-known even by doctors. Just to be clear please are you agreeing that concentration will steadily improve as i wont make long car journeys just now for safetys sake and do find my mind wandering.... There are always stresses in life but the legal case i mentioned went on for months against a stonewall and my sister failed to take the steps needed to win at a time i was struggling to cope and had asked for help....Her failure to do as promised and as advised by myself was a grief to me and necessitated a final effort to retrieve the situation which was successful leaving me doctor with a kind of nervous emotional override which is why i sought 5 days Benzos which have helped....I believe i just need to keep going now and hope for more improvement in concentration.... you said 4 weeks it would be over..... is this about correct? Any desire to drink alcohol has now receded....but i believe i may need specific advice on this in a separate post ....good wishes to sum up i need advice on concentration.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again. please feel free to ask as much as you want and it will be my pleasure to answer and guide you through this hard time.
As for concentration improvement, it will get better every day but here are some tips that might help you get better faster; sleep and wake up at the same time daily , take omega 3 supplements three times per week , include a daily portion of nuts in your diet, do one task at a time and do not exhaust yourself.
If at any time you feel that you le concentration is compromised then discontinue what you are doing and get some rest.
As for your sister , I would suggest that you excuse her as not all persons have the same capabilities that you have in organizing what needs to be done efficiently. I hope you find this helpful.

this comes in 2 parts - lat nov on returning from a brief break i found my front door area covered in massive amounts of excretia quite beyond the capacity of a person or individual animal- bucket load.....i took this as a possible warning if i did not desist from writing against a specific war ,of the hypocrisy of the UK govt, that something much worse was possible.... i felt a target for a bullet all that winter, especially in a kitchen on the ground floor and open to a public space....i am wondering if this brought on a v bad period of insomnia and not some small amounts of wine because to be XXXXXXX i have come across NO CASE-STUDY where a person drinking such small amounts renewed old withdrawal symptoms esp when i had no physical withdrawal symptoms ( yes i did the tests) I do not know the answer nor has anyone else who doesnt understand how terror groups operate and think we here in the UK are immune/ i ask this as i want to relax around others drinking and not be on edge all the time in case i should have a slip 2) Losing concentratiion is a worry for me but i find i am way better when away from a computer screen - all i do tho is on a computer ...films music friends chat social media complex news etc etc...this is why i used to take a daily walk when possible which led to v v painful legs over many many weeks....3) i have felt more relaxed now that recent pressures which may have indeed led to Phenergan have receded or it may be diazepam...i have ordered Omeda 3 .. i did try and discuss sleep hygiene with my GP but when sending me away last Dec with Zoplicone he told me to take 2 at 3 pm ,thats 15 mg ,when what i needed was a strict timetable and 3.75 dose/he also claimed it was not addictive .....i have been seeking to change GPs for some time..... Really sorry you had to go through this

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again. I appreciate how terrible was this incident but I would suggest that you let it go.. As painful as it was but terrorists won’t use animal or human excretions to annoy you , they have many other brutal methods to use. However this incident might have caused anxiety and insomnia.
As for alcohol intake , I don’t agree that drinking small amounts will trigger withdrawal symptoms but what I am worried about is that you cannot limit the intake to a small amount and increase the intake gradually unnoticed till you get into serious issues.
Good thing that you ordered omega 3 supplements and I would recommend that you limit computer use to half an hour per session, take an hour break then you can use it for another half hour and so on. I hope you find this helpful

dont know if my reply went thro as computer went down on sending.....

good to know am not an alcoholic.I wont drink again but can relax now around drinkers....

just looking to get some stability back....and hope sleep and concentration do rectify themselves.... most stress gone now.

btw when targetted at your home you do have to wonder who and why dont you? It would be v difficult to mess with my home without being seen.My view is that terror groups in the UK fear extradition so will do more minor stuff but it certainly was a threat from some people increased by living on the ground floor. Even a floor up and a nauseating clean-up would have been my immediate aim.The smell lingered for weeks and used massive disinfectant.... im NOT obsessed by this but have never known about a bout of insomnia and i agree that a small amount of alcohol can set off withdrawal symptoms... why couldnt my GP reach that conclusion? Every case ive read including on KINDLING would have it that thats impossible but my point was about relaxing among folk who do drink at Christmas. I would have drunk this last week but persuaded a GP on phone to give me Benzos instead and not the Kalms rubbish he originally intended........ On Friday i endured a haircut, a queue at a bank/their crazy questions to which i was polite ,and a supermarket and moved a double bed by 12 am.... this is a definite improvement. Just looking for full concentration to return and sleep to become more regular.... but am not going to panic about sleep. Shame exercise hasnt helped me in the past much tho would now reduce intensity as had horrid leg pains over weeks which led to my drinking vodka and tonics in evenings when i needed cocodemol and hot baths.....GP again unhelpful cheers Bill

Yes thanks Salad you have certainly helped with your positive approaches.....
Do you know about KINDLING and alcohol withdrawal? I suspect you do.Essentially withdrawal gets harder after every relapse for an alcoholic through GABA changes.
I actually was seeking to listen to my body and seemed to have so profoundly failed in this approach with no serious advice available as a reasonable counter that i reinforced a decision never to drink again which made it obsessive....so couldnt relax anywhere near alcohol.
Being visible at night ON THE GROUND FLOOR after such an attack and fearing at least a XXXXXXX or a bullet wasnt a good place to be but thats passed now.... ( by the way i was once unlawfully in prison where my cellmate who had stolen a TV in a wheelbarrow from a Police Sergeants home( really!!) instructed me in basic burglary techniques as there isnt a lot to talk about after a while) and took a substantial sum from the authorities as compensation through my lawyers so i have reasons for my paranoia. A FEW WEEKS LATER A DETECTIVE FROM THE REGIONAL CRIME SQUAD APPROACHED ME AT A SOCIAL CLUB AND GENTLY SAID IF I EVER HAD ANY MORE TROUBLE I SHOULD CONTACT HIM AND GAVE ME A TEL NUM/ HE KNEW SEE WHY I HAD BEEN IMPRISONED AND KNEW IT WAS A FRAUD. Yes Salad i do know people who have lived near real terrorism for years and i know full well why the downed Russian pilot committed suicide rather than capture or why a soldier going missing in Afghanistan is considered a group disaster, and that what happened to me is comparative chickenfeed BUT NO TERROR GROUP in the UK would risk an open more violent attack as the public here would scream for the whole lot to be put at once on a plane.
I do know who this group is or was at least....i didnt tell the police

Thats all passed now and like it or not i am seeking to keep the NHS here free from US hands which is a good 10 hour day online and next week will be taking elderly people to vote.I have had friends from all political persuasions and we agree to differ.

I have been sleeping through tiredness now without any help aand feel i am more balanced and the Zopiclone addiction has passed....i must have been crazy to listen to a GP who told me to take 15mg at 3pm when i needed a sleep hygiene programme at 3.75 mg reviewable after 10 days. This GP simply had no idea of medically-approved schedules of tapering replacement drugs with longer half-lives.Wouldnt even listen.I accidentally dropped him in it through a telephone conversation with his XXXXXXX partner who covered his arse for him but these guys are under pressure. My mother had an emergency operation for a broken hip. After the operation having a fever she was allowed to fall out of bed and break the other hip aged 87 and had another emergency operation 24 hours later/// did we sue?????? NO....My sister wouldnt know that the health authority would have no legal defence like say a pig falls on someones head from an upper floor ( the thing speaks for itself) but we didnt sue- maybe £50,000 ....the pressures on medical staff are intense. Im committed to avoiding a US style system.

so thanks for keeping this line open .......please keep it so a little longer for much shorter exchanges

i am sure you know about KINDLING .......and half life drug spans etc ....

best wishes Bill ( hope u enjoy the joke about the police sergeants TV.It is true actually!)

Hello and only for Dr Shoman.

In your evaluation of my alcohol habits( 5 bottles wine in 17 days after giving up all spirits some 6 weeks earlier when i had some withdrawal not too painful but no physical withdrawal signs much, some of which may have been caused by home attack stress ) when made ill stopping all wine and all alcohol, i need to know if you understand about kindling..... this is a process where people giving up alcohol find withdrawal harder after every relapse through possible changes in brain chemistry..... I WOULD ASSUME THAT A RELAPSE MAY BE WHERE FOLK ARE DRINKING A BOTTLE OF WINE A DAY MINIMUM OR SAY 8 measures of spirits daily or drinking soon after waking up ( i have never drunk before 9pm) for weeks if not months and then try again to stop AGAIN and only in a percentage of cases??? Its important for me that i know this. I dont want to feel like a timebomb around alcohol.I dont want to so fear a slip that i again become obsessive ........

My other pont is about zopiclone- do you agree that its use should be continually monitored and that the minimum should only be prescribed as part of other sleep hygiene measures etc etc if these may be a problem ( abandonment of caffeine etc etc) I have no depression.....
Zopiclone is imo highly addictive....i did fully explain to GP my lifestyle of working from home etc makes keeping timetables and routines difficult.

I wasnt telling you a silly sob story. Im a very positive person and stress is part of everyones life. The attack on my home was SO STRANGE ,that you may see why i feared a bullet for quite some time as on groundfloor and visible sometimes from outside open area in darkness with hiding places for shooter.... It was STRANGE because someone had collected this excretia in a bucket and carried it as obvious from its huge amounts....Smell lasted 6 weeks even with huge use of disinfectant caused me much nausea.Nor could i find help to remove for some time as no one would go near and had no shovel to lift. Caretaker would not even answer phone.

This is purely TO EXPLAIN . I am not seeking pity but information on kindling and on zopiclone.

By understanding i get better insights..... i am now zopiclone free, alcohol free, phenergan free( where this all started) and almost caffeine free as i just went off it .... i do sleep better and will be better still once the election is over many many thanks Bill

Dear XXXXXXX hello again. In my opinion kindling does not apply to you as 5 bottles of wine serve about 25 servings which means that you were having a serving or two per day during these 17 days which is a normal consumption pattern and doesn’t fall in the addiction category. That means that you should relax around alcohol and even can have a drink or two every once and a while.
As for the zopiclone , it should be used with caution and only when it’s benefits overweight its addictive potential so I agree with you on that point. I hope you find this helpful

i am assuming that you understand that as wine goes off when stored these were 5 nights and 5 bottles with many days spacing totalling 17 when i stopped completely and have not had a drop since. Not drinking has the advantage that you can always drive a car .....my sleep did immediately suffer on discovering the strangeness of the attack which i assure you has never happened before to the 150 people who live in this secured area from one side....it was planned and deliberate but as you suggested i am putting this behind me tho do still feel the odd shiver in a kitchen where i can be seen and not see out on ground floor...i was never able to discuss this with GP because he is naive about undercurrents in societies or why a middle-ranking police officer should give me his private phone number out of the blue....

MELATONIN should as i understand it be kept to 1mg and used at the same time every night to encourage the body back into a sleep cycle....formerly only 3mg was available and it gave me hangover effect as you cant cut it ,being in digestible capsules. I do now have access to 1 mg but would hope sleep patterns return naturally...and it will be a relief when this General Election is over Thurs at 10 pm.....no one will be asleep that night before 3 or 4 or 5 - maybe some gentle walking might now help.. previously i used to walk too far and have awful leg pains.... bw Bill

I agree

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX hello again.. thank you for clarifying that you have drank a bottle daily with spacings in between. This of course is beyond the accepted alcohol dosage per day , however it is not considered severe abuse. This means that you might be exposed to kindling but not in an intensive way.
I encourage you to let your sleep pattern return normally before starting melatonin again. Walking is beneficial but try to rest every 10 minutes to avoid leg pain. I hope you find this helpful

wires crossed - 5 bottles drank in 17 days on 5 nights during this period.Testing my bodies response you see/ am not as stupid as i sound.

am i safe to drink a bottle of brandy a week? Does it make any difference if say most is with tonicwithin the ist 4 days with then maybe a period of abstinence for 4-6 days as long as it doesnt go over i bottle standard size a week.....? This would not cause kindling at all would it whatever previous episodes had been....?? i await your answer on this before buying any.....

i may need to keep this conversation going a little longer because v v few GPs and no ordinary counsellors have much of a clue about this and most jump to conclusions before getting all the facts

so thats one bottle on say a monday; tues and weds free....thurs anf fri free and the next bottle sunday..... ans so on with intervals for 17 days totalling 5 from day 1 to day 17....

Before this ending on Oct 3rd i had been consuming too much vodka as painkiller total maybe 2 X 75 a week and stopped when having huge leg pains i drank 2 bottles over 4 days ......

So i moved to wine 7 weeks later starting with num one over 17 days

BORING ISNT IT..... but these details are given as i need CLARITY.

I myself believe i am worrying too much over kindling at the level of one bottle brandy a week....which is now sitting in the car boot as we have had here a General Election of huge importance to ourselves and to world peace where it is almost certain war will happen against Iran ..... we lost i gave many hours to helping the leader but somehow people didnt understand it. THE INQUEST CONTINUES but it may mean i will emigrate .....i expect no good from this Government. V SEVERE STRESS- a few drinks may have helped in v v bad weather

Dear XXXXXXX hello again.. Thanks for clarifying your drinking pattern , however to avoid kindling you can have up to two drinks per day. Drinking a bottle on one day and then drinking none on the following days won’t help you avoid the side effects. I hope you find this helpful

THIS IS WHAT YOU SAID PREVIOUSLY WHEN YOU THOUGHT I MEANT A BOTTLE OF WINE A DAY " thank you for clarifying that you have drank a bottle daily with spacings in between. This of course is beyond the accepted alcohol dosage per day , however it is not considered severe abuse. This means that you might be exposed to kindling but not in an intensive way."

Here you say EXPOSED TO KINDLING BUT NOT IN AN INTENSIVE WAY......

Now we are on 2 drinks a day - does this mean 2 glasses of wine,2 units of brandy thats ordinary measures....... and this is ok every night? Am confused now because i did have a bad time after stopping wine around that time of v severe stress and feel fortunate that i have left the bottle of brandy in the car. You see i might have 3-5 under severe stress and then over a week just the one bottle of spirits..... now you are saying to be safe 2 glasses of wine or 2 ??? units of brandy must be the daily limit .....As i cant be sure not to exceed this amount on DAY ONE it would be better to refrain from all alcohol which doesnt make me easier to live with among drinkers....

Can you clarify again please? If the attack was an anxiety problem then this is superfluous and I AM PANICKING? Was it ? If theres not severe kindling with a bottle of wine a night, then there must be less so with less abusive behaviour over nights off when stress is down again....

Please lay my concerns to rest...... i was not a regular heavy drinker and went months without a drink in the summertime and only last summer did i go past the sensible limits with 1-2 75oz bottles a week with tonic...

Something v bad happened to me with that last bottle of wine i do not want to happen again.I am not allergic to wine.If this was kindling and not anxiety then i DO NOT WANT THIS AGAIN...it went on for far longer than kindling would have..... 2-3 months with v slow return to health as i became addicted to zopiclone.... please can you clarify .... would kindling be this severe?
Are you saying Bill keep to two ordinary measures of whisky every night or on nights you drink.Dont exceed 2... Because under stress i do drink more than this ist night.... i always did then with stress over next day far less desire to drink Yes i have gone on a lot but its important to me.... i cannot endure the kind of crisis i had last year in and around the time of teh attack ( which is real and caused me to be sick for several weeks ) and immediately caused problems...... Would kindling be severe after say 5 glasses brandy single measures and then slowing off..... its all about stress see...and winter stress especially.... Christmas time last year was v tough.

I met a man who had DTs over Christmas, a serious repeat heavy drinker who would abuse all day huge amounts esp at holidays and was back at work on XXXXXXX 2nd..... i do not believe my problems are in this category - im panicking rather as i do know my own alcohol habits.... remember i have been teetotal for 14 months now maybe owing to a simple error of interpretation. I did not tell my GP about the attack.... he is naive over the ways of the world. When i was UNLAWFULLY HELD IN PRISON,and won serious compensation in the courts , my cell was OPPOSITE NOTORIOUS SERIAL KILLER XXXXXXX WEST WHO HAD KILLED AND BURIED SOME 15 WOMEN IN HIS HOUSE WALLS.... this is the real deal.......

thanks for helping doctor..... i have to get this right. PRUDENCE DICTATES

i am calmer today // what worries me a little is setting off a severe alcohol withdrawal should i overconsume whisky or brandy simply on the ist occasion as this has been my habit....but probably it was anxiety as i really did fear a bullet from a terror group in the City here where theres the main Syrian HQ backing Western propaganda
there is a time clock on here so .......

its spirits im interested in ( dont drink beer as full of carbs)

150 ml is about 3 measures of whisky

"What are the tiny bottles of alcohol called?
Their contents, typically 50 ml, are intended to comprise an individual serving. Miniatures may be used as gifts, samples, or for promotional purposes. In Scotland and the Northeastern United States they are often known as "Nips", and referred to elsewhere as "airplane bottles"."

so are we talking about 2 large whiskies a day or less????

it is v v unlikely isnt it that i set off kindling with 5 bottles spread over 17 days but each drunk in one night!!! PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION

If i kept alcohol down to even less that 2 large whiskies i would be ok .....
say one large one with tonic per day ?????

You are correct tho that these last 10 days have been v hard ones for many people in the UK to handle .Myself i had put huge energy into the general election and somehow the results have been fixed / i think this is what you meant in your former email that in a few days this will all be over.......?????

the whisky remains in the car until im sure of the amount which is safe...
i do hope you see now that i went through a wretched time last winter and i can only really see this as anxiety stress now and not alcohol......

1. when u wrote 2 emails back this will all be over in a few days, did u mean a kind of grieving over the General Election result

2.whisky is about 40% wine about 13% strength....i would have to be v careful on night one... I have never given up alcohol before by the way and when on holiday had few withdrawals and no physical ones at any time- i checked!

3) one bottle of wine 750 ml is not going to set off kindling is it.Do you agree? It might for some alcoholics if say they were abusing every night... Do you agree? Arent we talking about real abuse over weeks and months.I may have made a mountain out of this....

4) a counsellor wont be of any use to me unless he comes in in body armour, carrying a submachine gun and has night vision, with back-up.I KNOW WHAT A WARNING LOOKS LIKE .No counsellor will have the slightest understanding of the corruption of the British media which just destroyed a valuable and courageous political leader because he threatened their power....
I am getting calmer btw -YOU DID MEAN THE GENERAL ELECTION DIDNT YOU- here where i am there has been an explosion of racial hatred much of it against Muslims and Muslim women wont go out alone....many many threats of suicide here..... sometimes after acceptance there is calm...
A Mislim child ran out into the road and i stopped as his mother made to get him to safety. Some drivers here would not have...it is that bad

Christmas isnt a good time to drink again /people get hugely carried away..... any drinking i do will be one large whiskey a day with plenty of ginger ale, when i can savour its taste/ i shall give away that bottle in the car because there its an effort to get it, so it puts temptation away.
This will be the last run of 3 messages as i would hope for more calming in coming days bw Bill

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX , hello again , a 750 ml bottle of wine won’t trigger kindling if consumed every now and then ( not on daily basis). for example , on a weekend or on a holiday.. I hope you find this helpful.

yes thanks thats what i thought....

i did come across a woman on Twitter who believed she was being persecuted by people putting up mobile/cell phone masts and once met someone who believed that TV presenters were spying on him.....my situation has been real and results from my writing usually against the Govt....i did actually tell teh Labour leader here he was wrong that P Assad was using barrel bombs on his own people but rather these were used on proxy terrorists recruited by Western intelligence agencies and did receive a response from him...you see i know people on the ground in Syria....... IT IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN REAL ..... but British doctors dont know much... i had a friend who knew JFKs closest friend v well...the XXXXXXX family expected an assassination and indeed told the Soviet leader to expect nothing from LBJ his successor....the media bullshit daily.....

So now im going to rest and rest and look to gaining strength -thats all i can do really...someone just have me a large sum of money so that stress has gone.... and i can no relax over alcohol....thats the ist sensible answer i have had from everyone looking at alcohol...they just dont know anything which is why i have consulted you..... rest should see a return of strength dont you agree...i do try and get out every day weather permits and restraint as advised may have helped a difficult relationship with my sister bw Bill

rest rest rest and stay positive....

Dear XXXXXXX hello again..

Yes, I agree with you that rest of the body and mind will provide continuous improvement.
