Brief Answer:
May have a modest benefit.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic.

Magnesium is a supplement which is thought to have several beneficial effects onmuscle spasms and cramps, inflammation, anxiety etc. There are some studies suggesting a mild benefit in patients with back pain and sciatica since muscle spasm and inflammation are an important part of the symptoms.

So the answer is yes it can help. But you have to have realistic expectations, it is a question of a mild benefit at best. Since it is a cheap and safe supplement though it can be added to other parts of management (pain killers, muscle relaxants, physical therapy).

I remain at your disposal for other questions.
