She had this pain in the year 2009 also . The then attending Ortho has prescribed Ace proxivon 1 sos. Later it subsided. Now again we went to a Ortho who has taken PA and lateral views of the right knee. He tested her C-reactive protein which is 6.4 ,he has prescribed Aceclodol MR 1bd for 10 days and prescribed stamina OD and ostium k2, chlorocalciferal one XXXXXXX a week for 4 weeks. She has, prior to the visit to ortho , she has taken acelo 1bd for4 days and then Ace proxivon 1 bd for 3 days.she has completed taking Aceclodol MR and taking the other three medicines. Initially for about 3 or 4 days the pain subsided. Later the pain started again particularly in the night. There is no inflammation outside or swelling . Is this osteo arthritis or what do you call this condition. She has no heridity in Arthritis in her family..what is the remedy.?what is the safest pain killer for this knee pain?. Can she continue for another round of pain killer? Is it safe? kindly enlighten me on all my questions.

Brief Answer:
She is most likely having osteoarthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. I have gone through her x ray and image. She is having osteoarthritis. Treatment she is taking is right. I consider diclofenac slow release tablets (Nac SR 150 mg) quite safe. I give them whenever required (sos). You doctor prescribed cholecalciferol which I think very helpful as these persons also have vitamin D deficiency. I also found Diacerine and glucosamine very helpful in osteoarthritis. Quadriceps exercises and hot fomentation is helpful. Thyroid levels also effects pain so keep her thyroid levels normal.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
