Posted on Tue, 30 Dec 2014
Question: Hi, I had my 1st pregnancy during the month of dec 2013 and had to abort the process during the 6th week of pregnancy..misoprostol was used for this medical abortion.aftermath scan reports were clear and clear indicating no remains of the process nor any complications. I have concieved again during the moth of april 2014 and now am in my 9th month of pregnancy..and all the scans and others reports are sounding fine for the delivery.however my our doctor said that the baby is BIG and weighing out 3.6 kilos..moreover she is terming this pregnancy as PRIMi despite the medical abortion that I had earlier..kindly advice if there could be any issues during my labour..

Brief Answer:
NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
See basically the term primi ( primigravida is the full form ) is wrong.
You would be a primipara ( delivering a live baby for the first time ).
Gravidity is the event of conception, parity means delivering a live baby.
Do not worry, as long as the doctor is aware of your history, there is nothing to worry.
A big baby is also not a problem if you are also big built, or you have a good sized pelvis.
Only if the baby is too big for the birth passage, does a problem arise.
Your doctor would assess your pelvis internally after 38 completed weeks of pregnancy and check if the pelvis size is adequate.
If the pelvis is small, C section might be needed.
All the best

Hi
Good to hear from you again.
No issue with that.
As long as the abortion is complete, you need not worry.
DO not inform your mother, but inform your current doctor if possible in confidence.
Take care.
