Which Of The Two Copper-T And Tubectomy Is The Most Reliable And Safest Birth Control Procedure?

Question: Hi Doctor,we have 2 kids and my wife wants to for family planning, so out of 2 procedures like Tubectomy operation and Copper -T for 10 years which one will be fine to go as she is working and getting 2 weeks of leave is tough.
Is copper-T safe and she can start work from 2nd day itself,any side effects of tubectomy or copper T .
Pls suggest the period for which Copper T can be taken.

Thanks for reply, she is diabetic type 2, with having glycomet 500 (dosage half tab in post lunch and 1 post dinner, its under control), and having 2 babies 1st one 3.6 yrs and 2nd one 10months.

As your babies are very small you should not go for tubectomy . So copper T is a better option for you.

Though the chances of infection are there in your case with copper T as you are diabetic as well. You can use copper T for 5-10 yrs.

What kind of infection it may be with Copper-T, and after 10 yrs using Copper-T if we then not go for Tubectomy any issue.

And one more query, any specific time or any time we can go to hospital and take a copper T, how many days rest required for this
