Brief Answer: were pregnant before march 31. Detailed Answer: Dear member, Thnks for writing to healthcare magic. After an act of intercourse the pregnancy test will be positive only after 2 weeks . Thus you were pregnant before the coitus on March 31as it is not possible to have a positive pregnancy test so early. If you know your last menstrual period then you can know how many weeks you are pregnant. Please write back if you have any query. Thanks Dr Bhagyashree

Thank you so much for writing me back. My last menstrual cycle was around March 10th. Also, so you believe I was pregnant before March 31rst. Because on that encounter he didn't orgasm and I took the morning after pill. So does that men the pill, got rid of all the sperm from the encounter on the 31rst?! Than you.

Brief Answer: sperm life is only for 48 hours Detailed Answer: Dear member, Thanks for writing back. The ipill acts by delaying ovulation and changes the uterus lining do that pregnancy cannot occur. It had no effect on sperms. The sperm has life only for 48 hours . So the sperm effect is not there 48-72 hours after intercourse. The exact duration of your pregnancy can be found by doing a ultrasound at 7-8 weeks from last menstrual period I.e march 10th.

But, by what I have told you with the march 31rst encounter with no orgasm on his part, and taking the morning after pill, you believe that I was already pregnant before that encounter?! And why do you think that?! Thank you so much.

Brief Answer: pregnancy occured early in the cycle Detailed Answer: Dear member, Thanks for writing. As I have explained initially the pregnancy might have occured with other acts of intercourse previous to the March 31st. This is because after intercourse fertilisation of the egg and implantation take atleast 8- 10 days. Later the developing embryo produces the hormone hcg that is detected in urine test for pregnancy. All this will take atleast 10 days minimum .the time frame you have mentioned means that you nay have become pregnant by an act of intercourse previous to the one on march 31. I hope I have answerd your query. Thanks Dr XXXXXXX
