For adults, dialysis is recommended when creatinine levels reach 10.0 mg/dL.

But this is subjected to variability based on symptoms of the patient.

The accurate estimate for dialysis is eGFR(estimated glomerular filtration rate).

The guideline states first that the judgment on the time to initiate hemodialysis is allowed when residual renal function shows progressive deterioration and reaction to GFR less than 15 mL/min/1.73 m2 despite sufficient optimal conservative treatment.
