The hemoglobin levels tends to be less with age.
A level above 10gm/DL indicates good health.
Under 7gm is severe anemia and needs transfusions. 7-10gm is moderate levels and should be treated by correcting underlying cause.
If iron and vitamin B12 and folate deficiency then replacement is the solution.
Chronic kidney disease patients are adjusted to lower levels of hemoglobin while heart disease and stroke patients need higher values.
