Brief Answer:
As explained ...

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query about your daughter, who is 8 years old. She suffers from the nose-bleed once or twice every summer but this summer she had it more than 3 times.

The commonest reason for nose-bleed in children in summer is inflammation, scabbing and thinning over the front portion of the nasal septum, the area called as Little's area.
This area is amenable to pressure, nose-pricking, scab (dried nasal secretion) removing (so natural due to scab is formed due to hot air of summer).

This area can be seen by you as more red and may be with small blood vessels which otherwise are not visible; also can be seen the scab or small wounds that bleed.

The basis of treatment is to keep the area humid by means of breathing through wet handkerchief, coolers in the rooms where they sit and play, instructing the baby not to prick or fondle the nose.

If the nose bleeds, ask her to press / pinch the soft part of the nose below the bony area for 5 to 7 minutes and have breathing through mouth. Most of the times this is effective.

To add on:
It is advisable to have examination by an ENT Surgeon to confirm the problems I explained and to rule out any other problem that too can give bleeding like a mass or so. Also better is to get the bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombine time and platelet count at least once to make sure that there is no problem on that front.

I hope this answers your query and gets enough information to help your Princes.

Please feel free to ask further relevant query id you need to or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
