Posted on Thu, 3 Jul 2014
Question: My mentual cycle is not regular, it usually get delayed by 2-3 months and sometime by 5-6 months.

Every month during time of cycle, there would be severe stomach and body pain but no bleeding. And stomach pain stretchs up to 2 week and body get swells up due to no bleeding.

I went to many local doctor but they always give a clean sheat and say there is no problem. Due to uneven period i couldn't predict my actual time and due which doctor also cant get actual diagnosis.

Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Firstly, I would like to know if you see any bleeding at all during your menstrual cycles or is it simply some cyclic symptoms that you experience.

Either way, you need a complete physical evaluation, a complete hormonal profile, a trans-vaginal sonogram to rule out local anomalies and a laparoscopic evaluation in case further investigation is needed. You may also need genetic tests or karyotyping if any genetic defects are suspected. A hysterosalpingogram may be needed to rule out uterine anomalies.

Your clinical picture strongly points to some sort of hormonal disturbance and it remains to be seen if there is any structural anomaly also associated with it. So, with all the above mentioned tests, it is most often possible to arrive at a conclusion and plan further management. If necessary, an MRI may be suggested.

Therefore, I would ask you to see a specialist in treating high risk cases and get further help. The more you see those persons who try to experiment with your condition, the less treatable it becomes. So, choose your doctor wisely.

Please maintain a healthy weight, do regular exercise and eat healthy.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
