Brief Answer: Condoms do not have any side effects Detailed Answer: Dear Ma'am, Thank you for asking your query at XXXXXXX There are many methods of contraception available and none of them come without side effects. Condoms/ barrier contraceptives do not have any effect on the hormonal status and are supposedly the safest but have a slightly higher failure rate as compared to the hormonal methods. Oral contraceptive pills are very effective but they do alter the hormonal status of the body and are associated with quite a few side effects like increased chances of certain cancers, irregular cycles after discontinuing the pills. There are other methods like intra-uterine devices but they are associated with increased rates of infections and displacement of the device. Depot injections of hormones can be taken but they possess the same side effects like oral contraceptive pills. You should discuss the various methods with your partner and then take a decision. Please feel free to clarify any other query
