Brief Answer:
Keflex

Detailed Answer:

Dear Ma'am,

I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but Keflex is more recommended in your case. This is because ciprofloxacin causes a serious side effect which is more common in patients above 65 years of age which Achilles' tendon rupture, Also cipro is not recommended for diabetes patients..
Keflex should be taken in the form of 500 mg tablets every eight hours for fourteen days to treat UTI.. While taking Keflex you should monitor your blood glucose level regularly as it might augment the action of metformin causing hypoglycemia.. I hope you find this helpful..
