An important proteine

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you for using HealthCareMagic.
I have gone through your question and I understand .

Alfa 1 antitrypsin is a proteine (enzyme ) that is produced mostly by the liver and protect the lungs and the liver from the imune system (neutrophils )
.
When there is infection of the lung ,damage the imune system (neutrofphile) start to fight against bacteria or damaged tissue but if Alfa 1 antitrypsin does not stop the imune system your heathy tissues will start to be destroyed by neutrofiles also. That will damage the liver and increase the risk of lives chirosis .

The deficiency of this proteine -insufficiency of Alfa 1 antitrypsin is a hereditary disdorder(it's in the family ) .

Hope i have answered your question.
Let me know if you have any further questions, i will be happy to help.
Take Care!

Brief Answer:
You have to repeat the test after 3 month

Detailed Answer:
Hello again ! Thank you for follow up and sorry for my late reply.

The normal range values of Alfa -1 Antitrypsin 100-190mg/dl. Your Antitrypsin value is low 80 mg /dl but to effect the liver should be <70 mg/dl ( we call it homozygote type for Antitrypsin defficensy).

Your liver enzymes are almost in normal range , are acceptable.
I would suggest to do the test again after 3 month to see how the values will change and we will have a clear idea what is happening with your liver .
Meanwhile don't take alcohols, avoid fatty food .

Take Care !

Detailed Answer:
Hello There !
You need to check your liver by doing blood test ( AST/ALT) and ultrasound every 3 months so you can monitor your liver condition .

If the liver is damage you can talk with your treating doctor for the possible treatment.
With a proper monitoring and treatment will depend the complications.

Low Alfa 1 antytripsin increase the risk of liver dissease , (cirrosis)yes ,the conection is more when the level is less than <70 mg /dl.

Take Care of your liver - no alcohol, no paracetamol , no energy drink , decreasse fatty food .
