What Does This Urinalysis Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Oct 2015
Question: Had urinalysis in July, results showed 2+ occult blood and 1+ leukocyte esterace. Retested in August and occult blood was 1+ and no leukocyte esterace. Additionally I have a blood level calcium of 10.7, having ultrasound of kidneys tomorrow morning. Just a bit nervous and hoping it sounds like maybe a kidney stone to you. (Im 44 and never really had major issues, other than my hypothyroidism). Thoughts on this?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried about.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have done your urine analysis very recently which has revealed 1+ blood .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem
1) Do you have pain in loin ?
2) Do you have any urinary symptoms like burning ,frequency .urgency etc suggesting UTI .

Serum calcium level of 10.7 is slightly higher than normal but it does not necessarily indicate presence of kidney stone .

Do not be apprehensive regarding presence of kidney stone unless it is proved otherwise..

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Take antibiotics like Norfloxacin twice daily .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
Frequency for urination can be due to mild UTI .

Take antibiotic like Norfloxacin along with Nitrofurantoin twice daily along with urine alkalizer thrice daily .

Do write after you get report of scanning .I can assure you that you do not have stone in the kidney .

Thanks and Regards.
