Question: My OBGYN suspected I had fibroids. Ultrasound report says Rt ovaries has 2 simple cysts, ovary is normal size. Uterus showed no fibroids. My concern is a 2cm heterogeneous mass was seen between right ovary and lateral uterus. Dr says she's not sure what it is,it may be my Fallopian tube or pedunculated fibroid. My question is are heterogeneous masses usually cancer?

Brief Answer:
Don't worry. Heterogeneous masses are very rarely cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns.

Was it a trans abdominal or transvaginal ultrasound. ?
If it was transabdominal ultrasound then get a transvaginal ultrasound done. That will be more clear.

That heterogenous mass could be a fibroid. It is extremely unlikely to be cancer.
Get a repeat ultrasound done by another Sonologist I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes

Oh you have no idea how relieved I am! Thank you so much. It was a transvaginal ultrasound. No fibroids in uterus but Dr thinks it may be a pedunculated fibroid. Ive been so stressed I can't eat or sleep. I now feel better and am going to try to sleep. I see my OBGYN after my mammogram for follow up. This explains why she is alright with waiting a few weeks. Thank you very much.
