Question: My wife is 18 week week pregnent,fetel echo done yesterday which says hypoplastic aortic valve,ascending aorta,smallish mitral valve,ventricular septal defect,mid muscular-small of heart of fetal,doctor said this is major heart problem of fetal and advise for termination of pregnency,i m really worried now,should we continue or terminate pregnency

Pregnancy can be terminated after 20 weeks also due to such a major defect but later the decision, more will be the risk to the mother for bleeding and other complications. It is better to decide before 20 weeks and get a safe procedure done soon.
