What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

Question: I am having this feeling of like ants walking all over my body for the last week. It only last like a second or two on one part and then another part right away. I am not sure if it is an Itch as I don't need to itch it. It comes and disappears within a few seconds. It happens all over by body randomly most of the day. Sometimes in the legs, hands, back, face, eye lids, and head. In the morning it is not bad, but in the evening it is a lot. It came a few weeks ago and then left and came back about 5 days ago. It does not affect my sleep. When I am walking I don't notice it.

I had a full blood test a month ago. Only 2 thing came up were my ALT was 71 and my red blood count was 6.8. I had a cat scan on my stomach and they say fatty liver. I have attach my blood report. My doctor says these numbers are a little high nothing to worry about and to lose weight. I am 40lb 6'ft and 245. I don't have any other syptoms. I don't any medication currently.

I am not sure if this is an allergy or the fatty liver or the blood count. Do you think it is a liver problem or blood or should i do any other test. I don't have any other symptoms. I do walk about 5 miles daily.

Brief Answer:
may be neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The nerves in the body are responsible for any sensations that we experience in the skin.

It is possible that the abnormal sensations may be due to neuropathy which is abnormal function of the nerves.

It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.

Liver disease is one of the causes but this would require levels higher that you stated (71).
It would not be related to the rbc count, this is mainly used to support the hemoglobin level. If the hemoglobin was fine then the rbc is not likely significant.

Other causes include: (1) trauma to the nerves- unlikely in your cases, since the sensations are so generalized
(2)diabetes
(3)kidney disease
(4)side effect of medication
(5)low levels of vitamin b12 or folate
(6)either too high or low levels of vitamin b6 can also do it
(7)exposure to toxins
(8)thyroid disease
(9)some autoimmune diseases eg lupus, ra
(10)idiopathic- in some cases, no cause is found

If they have not been done in the tests that you mentioned above, you should consider bloods to check for diabetes, kidney function, thyroid hormone levels, vitamin b12 and folate levels.

If no abnormalities are found, then you may be in the idiopathic category (no cause can be found) and it maybe a case of monitoring.

There are medications that can be used to help with abnormal sensations so one of these can be prescribed if needed eg amitriptyline, tegretol, gabapentin, lyrica
These can be used for neuropathy

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
yes, it can be generalized

Detailed Answer:
HI

Yes , neuropathy can be generalised though it is most usually localized to specific regons

The most common reasons for generalised changes would be diabetes, kidney or liver disease, thyroid disease, side effect of medication, abnormal vitamin levels

Please feel free to ask anything else
