What Does This Widal Test Report Indicate?

Question: The WIDAL Test done on 10th XXXXXXX was Positive:

S. typhi antigen O 1:160
S. typhi antigen H 1:80
S. paratyphi A antigen H Negative
S. paratyphi B antigen H Negative

Post this report, I have been prescribed O2 Tablet for almost 10 Days. A Re-test for WIDAL done on 21st XXXXXXX was:

S. typhi antigen O 1:80
S. typhi antigen H 1:80
S. paratyphi A antigen H Negative
S. paratyphi B antigen H Negative

My Fever for the Past three Days had been fluctuating between 97 deg F to 99 deg F

Should I continue with my Antibiotics treatment. What should be the Drug (please give drug names as available in the market)

Should I also go in for a Culture test for Typhoid?

I do understand your concern,

As per your clinical history is concerned you had positive Widal test so for this reason you have already been given higher antibiotics.

Since you have completed the full course of antibiotics then no need of further antibiotics at all. For body temperature, you can discuss with your doctor to add Paracetamol only and no need for any culture at all.

As per your test report, you are recovering so nothing to be worried.
