Question: i have result .SGPT[AST] 54 HIGH iu/L 0-41 what do mean by this?
HOW AFFECTED MY LEVER DOCTOR THIS NUMBER..THANKS

Hi and welcome.

If only AST is high, and ALT, ALP an bilirbin are fine, then there is absolutely no need to be worried. So you need to check these parameters too, if didnt already.
This is actually minor elevation of AST and it doesnt need to mean anything. It can be caused by smoking, alcohol and some medications. It isnt sign of some liver damage.
I suggest to avoid alcohol in next 3-4 weeks and then repeat this test,if there is still elevation of ASt you should do liver ultrasound and check viral markers.Wish you good health. Regards
