Question: HC for the baby is 7.7 % :

Hi Sir/Mam, Now Iam into my 7th month (28 Weeks) Had a growth scan done and the HC is 7.7 % This is worrying me a lot. HC 7.7 percentile this number worrying or its fine .Let me know your inputs.Copying the scan report and image. Thanks,

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. I will try to explain in detail. Your HC is 258.55mm. The median HC should be 267 mm at 28 weeks. It is slightly low.
Your BPD is 74.67 against 75 mm. Your AC is 255mm against median of 243mm. Your FL is 53mm against median of 53mm. So overall your all parameters are normal. Ypur baby is growing well. No need to worry. Just be relaxed. Go for next visit as per your gynecologist advice.

I would like to clear few more queries?
1.My Gynec suggested for 2nd scan from an expert inManipal (Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX HOD)who does some crtical scans.If the HC is Okay ,y she has suggested for suchs a speclity doctor whos dates are not aviable till next month.
2.Also Wat is avg growth arte for HC
please give i details month by month

3.Any fetal medicine expert plzzz review and suggest me any nutrous food for better growth of my baby

4.Wat are the problems related to HC being low

please go through my reports and give me some our valuble inputs as am I pondering with HC number

also dint get dates from the Scan docotor for next 2 weeks

Hi dear,

I have gone through your all reports. Let me explain you every question.

1. The HC is at low normal range. So for second opinion and specialist opinion your gynecologist suggest you second scan.

2. I will give you month by month average HC.
28- 263mm
29- 269mm
30- 274mm
31- 284mm
32- 288mm
33- 300mm
34- 305mm
35- 310mm
36- 317mm
37- 321mm
38- 328mm
39- 336mm
40- 340mm
41- 344mm.

3. You should take high iron food and tablets of iron and folic acid. No any extra food is needed. Just take proper nutrition.

4. The HC is not below 5th percentile. So mostly it will come to the normal. No major complications occurs at this HC.
HC below 5th percentile is associated with neurological abnormality and in few cases fetal death may occur.

So don't worry. Just be relaxed. But go for regular follow up.
