What Does The Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: My 18 year old daughter recently had bloodwork to check her thyroid. The results were:
THA: 1.460
Thyroxine: 10.6
Thyroglobulin antibody: <1.0
Thyroid Peroxidase: 8

It is very likely you meant to type TSH, and not THA.
If that is the case then the TSH is normal as are the other 3 laboratory test results.
However sometimes, different labs use different methods ('assays') to run tests, and consequently the normal range for each result varies from lab to lab.
So in order to be 100% certain that these are all within normal limits, it would be necessary to glance at the normal ranges mentioned next to the printed result of each of these items.
For example, if the normal range for thyroxine in some labs is 12 to 25. In this case your daughter's thyroxine would be low. This entails a thoroughly different evaluation.
As unlikely as this can be, I still recommend checking the normal ranges carefully. And if they all are within the specified range for normal, then it is extremely unlikely your daughter has any problem with the function of her thyroid gland.
