What Does The CT Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Hi,
My dad recently went for a CT SCAN and here are the results. Can you please interpret the results and provide a diagnosis. He is 70 year old, his blood tests and ECG results are normal.
The CT SCAN report mentions bulky heterogeneously enhancing internally necrotic soft tissue density masses measuring approx. 3.8x3.8cm and 4.7x 3.0cm along the basal aspect of right pleura.
A 19x17mm soft tissue density nodule is seen in the left upper lobe ( lingular segment). 9x8mm nodule is seen in the apical region and 7x6mm nodule is seen anteriorly along the pleura in the left upper lobe,
Moderate right pleural effusion is seen with underlying basal atelectasis. 22x15mm pre carinal lymph node is seen. Few calcified pre carinal lymph nodes are seen.
No evidence of pleural thickening/ effusion seen on left. trachea is central in location.
Cardiac chambers and mediastinal vessels appear normal.
Bony thorax and soft tissue appear unremarkable.
