What Does My Urine Analysis Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: I am a 38 year old female with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. I just had a urinalysis that read as follows:
yellow
cloudy
1.010 specific gravity
1+ blood
6.5 PH
0.2 urobilinogen
3+ Leukocyte esterase
TNTC: WBC'S
6-10 RBC'S
3-5 EPIS
2+ BACTERIA
COULD THIS BE A KIDNEY INFECTION? THESE RESULTS ARE FROM AN URGENT CARE THAT PUT ME ON NITROFURANTOIN MONO-MCR 100MG.
SHOULD I GO TO A REAL HOSPITALCONSIDERING MY COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEM? TEMP AT 100.3.
THANK YOU,
XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

From the history you have provided and the reports you have attached these are my recommendations

1. You have severe urinary tract infection which could have involved the kidneys as well.
2. it's important that you get evaluated by a physician / nephrologist
3. Please get a urine culture and renal function test done
4. continue nitrofurantoin tablets for now
5. drink plenty of water and avoid dehydration

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
