What Does My Thyroid Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 28 Jul 2016
Question: Hello,

I have undergone a medical checkup last week. I consulted a physician to check the report and he told me that thyroid report needs to be conducted again. Though there are no symptoms as such, but he told me to get the thyroid tests FT3, FT4 to be conducted via another lab. I am attaching the thyroid report for your reference. Could you please let me know if I really need to get a retest for Thyroid done ?

Thanks !

Brief Answer:
Yes, you may repeat the test

Detailed Answer:
Hi

The report you have attached is suggestive of subclinical hypothyroidism. I agree with your physician that since you donot have any symptoms, we would repeat the test before starting treatment. I would advice you to get done Free T4 and TSH. I would also advice you to get done Anti-TPO antibody test which will help us in further management.
